Dental nurse or trainee dental nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dynamic dental practice based in the village of Pocklington 10 minutes outside York.

Overview
As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental services. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
• Prepare and maintain the dental surgery environment, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment.
• Manage patient records accurately, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral hygiene instructions.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
• Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote a safe environment for both staff and patients.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Dental Nurse or in a similar healthcare role is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective patient interaction.
• Proficiency in IT systems related to patient management and record keeping is advantageous.
• A caring attitude towards patient care is essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
